Green is an emotionally positive color – which is the reason I chose it for this week’s Mood Board Monday. A little burst of happiness to start the morning off before the deluge of upsetting news coverage we’ve been watching for weeks now.
Green is everywhere. It’s the most common color in the natural world, and it’s second only to blue as the most common favorite color. It’s the color of life & renewal and is associated with meanings of growth, harmony, freshness and the environment. Green takes up more space in the spectrum visible to the human eye. And since it’s such a dominant color in the world around us, it a common choice in interior design as a background because we are so used to seeing it everywhere.
Green is a color that is also has some negative associations. I won’t go too far into that since we need a “feel good” read at the moment. However we’ve all heard the term “green with envy” and the color is associated with being inexperienced, “he’s green in his career.”
Last week I suggested going outside to pick a few uplifting daffodils. This week, since we’re staying inside our homes, why don’t you grab a couple plants from around your house and put them around your new WFH desk space. I guarantee it will brighten up your space.
I look forward to sharing another Mood Board Monday with you next week. Until then, please take care of yourself, wear your masks and stay inside.
